Job Summary:
The HVAC Start Up Technician is responsible for diagnosing, starting up, and testing out HVAC equipment on projects (split systems, mini-splits, package systems, and roof top units on Commercial Construction projects.
COMMUTE:
  • This role requires you to commute to both Milwaukee and Madison based jobs, you must be comfortable driving anywhere.

Position Description:
  • Proficient in diagnosing, starting up, and testing HVAC Equipment on Commercial construction projects (split systems, mini-splits, package systems, and rooftop units.
  • Skilled in service repairs, register installations and providing white glove service in finished and occupied units / homes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of refrigerant troubleshooting and code-compliant HVAC systems.
  • Competent in the installation of ductwork, gas piping, condensate piping, and venting, as well as blueprint reading and layout from pre-designed or custom plans.
  • Responsible for pre-planning and communicating material needs to ensure on-time delivery and availability.
  • Responsible for training field crews in both structural and technical aspects of the industry.
  • Strong knowledge of all job phases, ensuring HVAC systems are installed effectively in coordination with other trades.
  • Actively supports and enforces DJI Safety Culture by maintaining safe jobsite conditions and holding crew accountable to safety policies.
  • Communicating outstanding start ups, reporting status of start ups
  • Properly filling out start up forms, proper documentation of start ups

Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 6+ Years of HVAC Construction Experience or have successfully completed the HVAC Apprenticeship
  • EPA Certification
