This paid apprenticeship offers a hands-on opportunity to develop essential skills in arboriculture, horticulture, and outdoor work while working alongside experienced professionals. Whether you’re passionate about growing your expertise or eager to contribute to healthy, beautiful urban and natural environments, this role provides a lively, engaging environment to learn and grow. You will gain practical experience in tree trimming, pruning, rigging techniques, and the safe operation of equipment such as bucket trucks and chainsaws.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with tree removal, pruning, and trimming to promote healthy growth and safety.
  • Operate bucket trucks and other equipment safely to access high branches and difficult-to-reach areas.
  • Support rigging operations for complex tree removals or limb removals using arborist rigging techniques.
  • Conduct plant pruning care, lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general landscaping tasks.
  • Follow strict safety protocols during all outdoor work activities to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Participate in tree care assessments, including dendrology (study of trees) to identify species and health conditions.
