Job description

The Applied Intelligence team, part of AI, Search & Knowledge Platforms, builds applications that bring intelligent capabilities to people through Siri, search, and new surfaces that haven't shipped yet. We work across the full stack, from native apps and prototyping tools to server integrations, with teams across Apple. There is a huge opportunity in bringing intelligent capabilities to personal data in a way that is secure, private, and only possible in the Apple ecosystem.
Description
We are looking for an experienced software engineer who can work broadly across the stack and adapt as priorities shift. Ideally you have deep technical understanding of iOS or macOS, experience building systems that use the full capabilities of the platform, and the ability to integrate machine learning and AI technologies into production experiences. A strong understanding of modern AI systems and the ability to collaborate closely with ML engineers will be critical. Having strong technical opinions, a bias toward experimentation, and the focus to deliver on time are key to being successful here.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of experience building software solutions (frameworks, UI, services) for iOS or macOS
Track record of working cross functionally with engineers, designers, and ML engineers to ship products
Demonstrated ability to work across the full stack (UI, application logic, networking/services)
BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Qualifications
Strong product focus and ability to advocate for the end user experience
Deep understanding of and strong opinions on software quality
Comfortable taking ownership and driving quality end to end
Experience building software that makes full use of platform capabilities
Familiarity with search technologies, information retrieval, or knowledge systems
Familiarity with ML concepts or experience integrating ML models into applications
