Job description

Yaskawa is searching for a Drives Application Engineering Manager.  The Drives Application Engineering Manager Provide leadership and oversight within applications engineering to facility YAI Drives sales with existing and target customers. Provide final-stop technical expertise to assist customers, field engineers, and
outside sales in the use of Yaskawa Drives products and services. In this role they will also mentor other junior engineers and help increase organizational technical capacity and expertise. Contribute and lead the applications engineering group and organization wide efforts to: adapt YAI Drives products to solve customer application challenges, test new YAI products in real-world scenarios, and administer field support quoting to customers. Integrate market and customer needs into the development process through programs such as Voice of Customer. Interface closely with sales, product marketing, engineering peers, management, and other staff to solve customer problems.

The successful candidate will have:

Bachelor’s Degree with focus studies in electrical, mechanical, computer engineering, or Mechatronics.
Minimum 10+ years field experience or equivalent involving YAI or competitor product lines, applications,
and projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, including technical writing and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong organization skills and strong time management with a team approach.
Ability to mentor and answer technical questions from “A”, “B”, and “C” level engineers.
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft OS, Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Project, CAD
programming environments, etc.
Experience with Industrial Networks: Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP/IP, PROFINET, Modbus RTU, and BacNet
MSTP preferred.
Thorough working knowledge of electrical field test equipment.
