Resume du Role

Relevant de l'equipe d'automatisation et d'ingenierie des applications, l'ingenieur junior soutiendra la conception, la mise en uvre et l'amelioration continue des systemes de fabrication automatises au sein de la nouvelle usine de Smardt.


En travaillant etroitement avec l'expert en ingenierie de l'automatisation (PME), vous aiderez a integrer des equipements d'automatisation, des systemes de manutention des materiaux et des solutions de fabrication sur mesure qui ameliorent la securite, la productivite et l'efficacite operationnelle.


Ce role est ideal pour un ingenieur en debut de carriere qui aime resoudre des defis techniques, apprendre de nouvelles technologies et voir les projets evoluer du concept a la mise en uvre


Il s'agit d'un poste a 100 % sur site et vous travaillerez au quotidien aux cotes de votre equipe.


Principales Responsabilites

  • Soutenir la conception, la mise en uvre et la mise en service des systemes d'automatisation de la fabrication.
  • Aider aux projets d'integration d'automatisation soutenant les nouvelles lignes de production et les procedes de fabrication.
  • Participer au developpement et a l'optimisation de solutions de manutention des materiaux et de flux de travail automatises.
  • Travailler en etroite collaboration avec des ingenieurs chevronnes pour integrer des equipements automatises, des outillages et des systemes de fabrication.
  • Soutenir la mise en uvre de solutions d'automatisation qui ameliorent la securite, la qualite, la productivite et l'efficacite de la fabrication.
  • Assistez aux tests d'equipement, a la mise en service, au depannage et aux activites de validation.
  • Participer a des initiatives d'amelioration continue axees sur l'automatisation manufacturiere et l'excellence operationnelle.
  • Preparez la documentation d'ingenierie, y compris les dessins techniques, les instructions de travail, les specifications des equipements et les procedures operationnelles.
  • Aider a identifier les causes profondes des problemes d'equipement et de procede tout en soutenant les actions correctives.

Competences:

What We're Looking For:

Reporting to the Automation & Application Engineering team, the Junior Engineer will support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing systems within Smardt's new manufacturing facility.

Working closely with the Automation Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME), you'll help integrate automation equipment, material handling systems and custom manufacturing solutions that improve safety, productivity and operational efficiency.

This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, learning new technologies and seeing projects evolve from concept through implementation.


This role is 100% on site and you'll be expected to work on a daily basis, side-by-side, with your team.


What You'll Do:

  • Support the design, implementation and commissioning of manufacturing automation systems.
  • Assist with automation integration projects supporting new production lines and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in the development and optimization of material handling and automated workflow solutions.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to integrate automated equipment, tooling and manufacturing systems.
  • Support the implementation of automation solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist with equipment testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and validation activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing automation and operational excellence.
  • Prepare engineering documentation including technical drawings, work instructions, equipment specifications and operating procedures.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of equipment and process issues while supporting corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Research emerging automation technologies and recommend innovative solutions for future manufacturing improvements.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with company safety standards and applicable engineering best practices.

Initial Project Focus

One of the first major assignments for this role will support the launch of Smardt's new Kirkland manufacturing facility.

Working alongside the Automation Engineering SME, the successful candidate will assist with the integration and implementation of an automated material presentation system supporting production flow. This includes automation integration associated with approximately 60 custom-designed material handling carts that will feed production lines and improve manufacturing efficiency.


This project provides an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience implementing automation within a modern manufacturing environment.
