The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is looking for Technical Support Representatives interns to help in our Client Technical Services department in assisting employees and volunteers at the Church.

We have found that the ideal candidates for the TSR Intern role fit the following criteria:
  • Major in Computer Information Technology

  • Internship can be a senior project.

  • Example Courses for BYU-I: CIT298 and CIT498.

  • General interest in technology and computer support.

  • NOTE: This is not a coding internship, but more of a general technology, support, and customer service introduction.

This internship position represents an exciting opportunity to work for one of the largest information technology centers in the Wasatch front. This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Work Schedule:
This is a 40 hour per week internship that is expected to last approximately 4 months. Normal office hours are between 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Work locations can be either downtown Salt Lake City at the Church Office Building, Riverton at the Riverton Office Building, or West Valley at the Beehive Clothing Facility.

  • Applications & Interviews: September through October

  • Interview Process: Each interview is conducted by a hiring manager aligned with your specific internship opportunity.

  • Candidate Selection: After interviews conclude, candidate evaluations are shared with all hiring managers recruiting for that internship type. Managers then make their selections. We typically hire between 5 and 30 interns per internship discipline, and strong candidates may receive interest from multiple teams.

  • Offers Extended: November through early December

  • Internship Start Dates: January and May

Qualifications
You should be currently enrolled or within one year of your graduation date from an accredited college or university.
Internship is for current temple worthy members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Technology background is desired
Helpful Skills & Abilities:
Prefer applicants with technical certifications, such as A+, Network+, etc.
Functional knowledge of supported hardware and software including Windows and Mac platform.
  • Disk wiping and disk imaging technology

  • Basic asset management practices

  • Network technologies pertaining to system connectivity and troubleshooting

  • Effective interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Basic understanding of IT business functions

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, dependable, and appropriately prioritize tasks

  • Ability to comfortably lift 30 lbs. and reach across and work under desks

  • This job operates in a professional office environment

  • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment
