A proprietary trading and market-making firm is hiring a full-time Trade Support Engineer for an hybrid role in Chicago, IL. This position sits at the intersection of trading, technology, and operations, supporting a high-performance electronic trading environment where reliability, speed, and accuracy are critical. The Trade Support Engineer serves as a front-line resource for monitoring production systems, troubleshooting trading issues, supporting traders, and ensuring seamless day-to-day market operations.

This opportunity is ideal for a technical support professional with experience in trading, financial services, or mission-critical production environments. The role offers direct exposure to traders, quantitative researchers, developers, exchanges, and clearing firms, providing a unique opportunity to deepen expertise in electronic trading systems while contributing to operational excellence. Required Skills & Experience
· 2+ years of experience in Trade Support, Trade Operations, Application Support, or a similar production support role
· Strong experience supporting both Windows and Linux environments
· Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
· Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and incident investigation
· Familiarity with JSON, XML, and Parquet data formats
· Experience troubleshooting application, infrastructure, and operating system issues
· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
· Detail-oriented with strong documentation and process improvement habits
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements

· Knowledge of the trade lifecycle, trade capture, and reconciliation processes
· Experience interacting with exchanges and clearing firms
· Familiarity with trading protocols such as FIX, FIXP, MDP3, BOE, or ITCH

· 3+ years of directly relevant experience for Senior-level consideration
