Convergentz, a division of the Hunton Group, has an exciting opportunity for an Application Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and supporting temperature control systems that meet project plans, specifications, and customer requirements for commercial and industrial facilities. This role works closely with contractors, engineers, project managers, and field technicians to deliver cost-effective, high-quality building automation and controls solutions. Responsibilities:

  • Design building automation and temperature control systems in accordance with project specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.
  • Create control schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and submittal packages using AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Develop and document sequences of operations to ensure proper system functionality and compliance with specifications.
  • Review plans and specifications to identify exceptions, conflicts, and value-engineering opportunities.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consulting engineers, vendors, and internal teams to obtain required project information and resolve technical issues.
  • Select, size, and order control devices and associated system components.
  • Support project teams by providing technical assistance for controls installations, programming, graphics, and system startup activities.
  • Develop and maintain accurate project documentation and archive databases, including final as-built drawings and project closeout information.
  • Assist with material receiving, inventory handling, and coordination of project equipment deliveries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
