Job description

Description

Machinist with familiarity in operating Rottler type Controls for cylinder block/component type machine work with efficiency and accuracy is a must. 


Machinist that has a background in both Manual and CNC machining. is responsible for operating and maintaining various types of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. This role involves interpreting blueprints, working with a variety of materials, and ensuring that all parts meet high-quality standards


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of Rottler controls.
  • Knowledge of block setups.
  • Ability to inspect components for re-use or repair with high degree of accuracy on a variety of different engine manufacturers.
  • Operate and set up machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to perform precision machining tasks. 
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet required specifications. 
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines to keep them in good working order. 
  • Inspect finished parts to verify adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Select and prepare materials for machining, including cutting and shaping raw materials as required.
  • Perform work in desired time requirements for each task and job.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of machining processes, including adjustments and settings made during production
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machining processes, tools, or materials.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years' experience with Rottler controls.
  • Minimum of five years' engine reconditioning work experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in machining.
  • Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role; familiarity with various machine tools and manufacturing processes.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Must be willing to put in extra hours to take care of the customer.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Must be able to perform tasks without constant supervision.
  • Preferred Experience running CNC lathes and mills.
  • Experience programming parts in CAM Software preferably Gibbs CAM)
  • Have a desire to help grow the company and expand into new markets.
  • Ability to work well in a team, give input, drive accountability, and train and mentor others.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform manual dexterity tasks.
