Job description

Job Title: Application Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the technical bridge between sales, engineering, and project management to ensure the correct specification, estimation, and execution of electrical switchgear and related products.
  • Interpret customer specifications, electrical schematics, and single-line diagrams to develop cost estimates and technical proposals.
  • Support the sales and estimating teams by researching industry standards, documenting requirements, and preparing comprehensive quotations.
  • Ensure all sales orders align with contract requirements, company capabilities, and customer needs while supporting accuracy in pricing and scope.
  • Oversee the technical design process for customer projects, including material choice, documentation, and bill of materials creation.
  • Provide guidance to internal teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers on technical matters, responding to inquiries, clarifications, and modifications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Track and analyze project performance, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards, cost targets, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with project managers to oversee manufacturing progress, address potential field service issues, and aid with after-sales support, including training and warranty management.
  • Develop and support documentation, including submittals, technical drawings, operation manuals, and as-built packages.
  • Continuously improve estimation accuracy, sales processes, and project execution strategies through data analysis and customer feedback.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and customer specifications.
  • Ability in estimating, quoting, and pricing strategies for electrical switchgear and related products.
  • Experience with MRP systems, CAD software, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing contracts, assessing risk, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards and their application to sales, estimating, and project management.
  • Experience in customer interactions, including negotiations, technical support, and training.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Eng Technology) or equivalent technical experience in electrical switchgear manufacturing.
  • Ability in Korean language skills is highly desirable.
