Quality Improvement Analytics Analyst III

This is a Hybrid role, will the ability to work primarily from home,

Onsite requirements based on job responsibilities will be on an as needed basis.

Summary

The Quality Improvement Analytics, QIA, department provides clinical, quality and patient experience analysis, to ensure RWJBarnabas Health patients receive safe, high quality of care and a best-in-class patient experience. Utilizing Performance Analytics tools and other available systems, Press Ganey, CMS Stars, US News and World Report, Leapfrog, Vizient, Strata, EPIC, etc, the QIA Analyst III will assist with data requirement gathering, prepare reports to measure and trend key performance metrics and present results in an analytical manner, as requested by all levels of management throughout the Health System. This position will work closely with the QIA Lead and Analysts to ensure internal and external reporting deadlines to federal and state agencies are met in a timely manner. This position will also work closely with key stakeholders to provide actionable insights to enable informed decision-making, identify issues and monitor the strategic initiatives of the Health System.

Basic Qualifications: 

Education

Bachelor's Degree in nursing, math, computer science or related fields required

Master's Degree in nursing, health administration, public health or related fields a plus

Experience

Minimum of 3 years' experience in healthcare setting is strongly preferred

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint and strong analytical skills required

Experience with programming languages such as SQL, python, VBA and/or PowerQuery is beneficial

Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate ability to analyze large amounts of data, and present in a meaningful format

Ability to manage and prioritize numerous ongoing and new projects, tasks, and stakeholder requests in a fast-paced reporting environment needed

Knowledge and experience with quality improvement processes and approaches, such as control-chart and other time-series analysis

Job Specific Requirements

On-going preparation of routine reports, updated and delivered to designated recipients within specified reporting cadences

Responsible for streamlining and automation of reporting, utilizing business intelligence tools to develop meaningful visualizations, and provide end user training as needed

Responsible for development of on-going reports to support new corporate initiatives, ensuring standardization of criteria across all facilities, efficiency of report design, and complete documentation of process, to facilitate automation and cross training to other members of the team

Responsible for preparation of adhoc requests from corporate departments, according to specified criteria, ensuring timelines, accuracy and completeness of data

Utilizing Performance Analytics tools and other analytics applications, this position will develop and maintain dashboards and reports to measure and trend key performance metrics and present results in an analytical manner

Ability to analyze large amounts of data to identify trends and patterns, ensure accuracy, investigate variances, as well as discover opportunities for improvement

Responsibilities will include a full range of activities from small to mid-size projects to development of larger more complex projects related to enterprise strategic initiatives

Educates all users on the data that is available to ensure the information being requested is presented in the best, most accurate manner to maximize the utilization of data

Ability to handle complex work independently

Mentors other staff in successful achievement of project milestones

Self-directed and works with minimal supervision to develop and execute solutions to meet project objectives for area of expertise

For specific subject matter of expertise independently identify, sequence, and schedule project tasks, incorporate tasks into project plans/schedules, ensure timely and effective completion of project deliverables and milestones

Independently execute assigned project tasks for approved projects

Collaborate with engineers, administrators and health care providers to optimize processes and outcomes,

Be a leading influence improving targeted outcomes in projects using various improvement methodologies such as Agile, Lean, PDSA, Six Sigma, and other methodologies,

Serve as a knowledge resource for QIA Analysts I and II

Perform other duties as assigned
