Overview
Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Epic Certified Applications Analyst III - Claims to join a leading healthcare organization. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity supporting Revenue Cycle operations and claims management initiatives.
This position is primarily remote, with occasional onsite visits for team meetings and department events. All approved travel expenses for onsite visits will be covered by the client.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Epic Claims workflows, healthcare billing operations, and reimbursement processes, along with Epic certification in either Hospital Claims or Professional Claims.
Position Summary
The Epic Certified Applications Analyst III - Claims is responsible for the design, optimization, maintenance, and support of Epic Claims applications and related revenue cycle workflows. This individual will collaborate with operational leaders, billing teams, technical teams, and external vendors to ensure accurate claims generation, submission, processing, and reimbursement.
The analyst will serve as a subject matter expert, providing ongoing support, troubleshooting, workflow enhancements, and system optimization efforts that improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, configure, and support Epic Claims applications and associated revenue cycle workflows.
  • Analyze and resolve claims-related system issues impacting billing, reimbursement, and payment processing.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement workflow improvements.
  • Support claim generation, claim edits, clearinghouse integrations, payer requirements, and reimbursement processes.
  • Evaluate current system functionality and recommend enhancements to improve operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and work closely with technical teams and vendors to resolve defects.
  • Participate in testing, validation, upgrades, and system implementations.
  • Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, workflows, and support procedures.
  • Provide ongoing production support and serve as a key resource for revenue cycle operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, payer guidelines, and organizational standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Epic certification or accreditation in Hospital Claims or Professional Claims.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Epic application analyst experience supporting Revenue Cycle functions.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare billing, claims processing, reimbursement workflows, and revenue cycle operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex claims issues and optimizing system performance.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in both Hospital Claims and Professional Claims.
  • Experience supporting Hospice billing and claims workflows.
  • Experience working within large healthcare systems or integrated delivery networks.
  • Familiarity with clearinghouse integrations and payer-specific claim requirements.
