Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite per Week)

LHH is partnering with a leading organization to identify an experienced Level 3 Mac Desktop Engineer to join a highly collaborative Workplace Technology team. This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned Mac systems professional who thrives in enterprise environments and enjoys driving innovation in endpoint management, automation, security, and end-user experience.
In this role, you will serve as the subject matter expert for macOS endpoint management, leading strategic initiatives across device lifecycle management, Jamf Pro administration, automation, and Microsoft 365 integration. You will work cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, and support teams to deliver scalable technology solutions while serving as the highest escalation point for complex Mac-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
Endpoint Management & Strategy
  • Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise Mac endpoints.
  • Develop scalable solutions focused on automation, standardization, and security compliance.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for macOS management across the organization.
Jamf Pro Administration
  • Own and administer the Jamf Pro environment.
  • Design and implement advanced policies, configuration profiles, smart groups, extension attributes, and packages.
  • Continuously improve endpoint management processes and platform capabilities.
Application Packaging & Deployment
  • Package, test, deploy, and maintain software for macOS devices.
  • Manage application updates and ensure compliance with licensing and organizational standards.
  • Maintain reliable deployment workflows for business-critical applications.
Automation & Scripting
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions using Bash, Python, AppleScript, or similar technologies.
  • Streamline provisioning, patch management, reporting, and remediation processes.
  • Improve operational efficiency through scripting and workflow automation.
Advanced Technical Support
  • Serve as the final point of escalation for complex macOS-related incidents and systemic issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.

Cross-Platform Collaboration
  • Work closely with Windows, identity management, and cloud platform teams.
  • Support integrations involving Azure AD, Active Directory, CyberArk, and other enterprise technologies.

Microsoft 365 & SaaS Administration
  • Support Microsoft 365 administration and policy management related to macOS endpoints.

Documentation & Project Leadership
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support staff.
  • Lead or contribute to endpoint modernization, security, and workplace technology initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of enterprise-level experience supporting and managing macOS environments.
  • Expert-level experience with Jamf Pro administration, including:
    • Policy creation
    • Configuration profiles
    • Smart groups
    • Patch management
    • Extension attributes
  • Strong understanding of macOS architecture, deployment methodologies, and security frameworks.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Bash, Python, AppleScript, or similar tools.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Apple Business Manager
    • Apple Push Notification Service (APNs)
    • Device Enrollment Programs
    • Mobile Device Management (MDM)
    • Volume Purchasing initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and integration in enterprise environments.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Jamf certifications (Jamf 300 or higher preferred).
  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) certification.
  • CompTIA, ITIL, or similar IT industry certifications.
  • Experience integrating Jamf Pro with identity providers such as Azure AD or CyberArk.
  • Experience with Zero-Touch provisioning and deployment workflows.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security technologies such as FileVault, CrowdStrike, or SentinelOne.
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10/11 administration within mixed-device environments.
  • Experience supporting endpoint compliance initiatives and enterprise security programs.
