Position Summary

The Product Developer plays a key role in bringing products from concept to production by partnering with Product Management, Design, Merchandising and global vendor teams. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple brands, development calendars and vendor relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day product development activities across multiple brands, seasons and vendor partners.
  • Track development milestones and ensure adherence to seasonal calendars.
  • Partner with Product Manager, Design and Merchandising teams throughout the development process.
  • Review lab dips (L/D), strike-offs (S/O), trims, and development submissions; communicate comments and approvals to vendors.
  • Evaluate color submissions and ensure alignment with brand standards.
  • Support development of prints, graphics, embellishments, washes and specialty treatments.
  • Identify and resolve development, construction and quality issues.

Materials, Costing & Vendor Management

  • Lead or support fabric and trim sourcing initiatives aligned with brand identity and target costs.
  • Partner with Product Manager and Design/Merch teams to support costing goals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to balance quality, design intent and cost requirements.
  • Manage vendor communications, development timelines, approvals and issue resolution.

PLM, Samples & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate product information, BOMs, approvals and development records within Centric PLM.
  • Ensure seasonal data, sample tracking, and documentation are organized and up to date.
  • Track inbound and outbound development packages and samples, including receipt, distribution and follow-up.
  • Maintain organized seasonal sample archives and material libraries.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement

  • Partner with Design, Merchandising, Sales, and Technical Design teams to support product execution.
  • Participate in SMS reviews, milestone meetings and seasonal development meetings.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, SOPs and team efficiency.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of apparel Product Development or Production experience in apparel wholesale, retail or related industries.
  • Strong understanding of the product development process from concept through production.
  • Experience with Centric PLM, BOM management and product data maintenance.

We offer competitive benefits and are dedicated to equal pay for equal work. Specific salary offers depend on each candidate's qualifications and experience. FAM Brands also offers all employees participation in our annual bonus program (Non-Sales) or commission program (Sales).
