What are APMS?

APMS stands for Advanced Practice Management Systems or Alternative Provider Medical Services, depending on the context. In healthcare, APMS commonly refers to Alternative Provider Medical Services, which are contracts in the UK that allow various healthcare providers, including private companies and charities, to provide primary care services for the NHS. These contracts offer more flexibility compared to traditional General Medical Services (GMS) contracts, enabling innovative approaches to patient care. APMS contracts are designed to improve access and quality of care for patients, especially in underserved areas.
