Position Overview

Serves as the single operational owner of assigned accounts from initial intake through closeout โ€” maintaining full continuity of project history, context, and institutional knowledge across the project lifecycle. Ensures that account-speci๏ฌc knowledge is never solely dependent on individual PM team members and does not transfer to Sales by default on complex or escalating work.

Theโ€ฏSr. Project Executiveโ€ฏholds ultimate accountability for the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects. This is a manager and a doer role โ€” theโ€ฏSr. Project Executiveโ€ฏis not a purely oversight position. This senior leader directly manages a team of APMs, PMs, and Sr. Project Managers while remaining actively and substantially involved in project work, carrying meaningful client-facing responsibilities, and stepping in as a primary point of engagement on the ๏ฌrmโ€™s more complex projects. Theโ€ฏSr. Project Executiveโ€ฏis expected to balance team leadership with direct execution โ€” managing up, managing their team, and rolling up their sleeves when the work demands it.

What Youโ€™ll Do

Strategic Leadership

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of project and organizational strategic plans.
  • Proactively identi๏ฌes,forecasts, andmitigatesproject risks before they escalate.
  • Establishes andmaintainsstandards for projectdeliveryquality and consistency across the portfolio.
  • Contributes to building and maturing organizational practices, templates, tools, and SOPs.

Portfolio & Performance Management

  • Holds full accountability for the performance, outcomes, and pro๏ฌtability of an assigned portfolio of projects.
  • Monitors project progress across all active engagements, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and scope.
  • Reviews and evaluates the performance of direct-report APMs, PMs, and Sr. Project Managers, providing guidance, coaching, and development support.

Team Leadership & Internal Coordination

  • Directly oversees APMs, PMs, and Sr. Project Managers, serving as an escalation point and a resource for removing internal roadblocks.
  • Fosters cross-functional communication and cohesion across internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Partners with leadership and supporting departments to align resources, priorities, and capacity.
  • Serves as an internal advisor to other project teams, offering strategic guidance on best practices and complex situations.

Client Relationship Management & Direct Project Involvement

  • Serves as the primary permitting team relationship owner for assigned clients,maintainingtrust and continuity throughout the project lifecycle โ€” and continuously looking for opportunities to deepen the relationship, strengthen con๏ฌdence in the ๏ฌrm, and expand engagement across the client's portfolio.
  • Maintains signi๏ฌcant, ongoing client-facing time across the portfolio โ€” this is not a behind-the-scenes role.
  • Acts as the senior point of engagement on complex, high-stakes, or high-visibility projects, providing direct involvement beyond oversight.
  • Balances client requirements with organizational capabilities, managing expectations with clarity and professionalism.
  • Proactively communicates project status, risks, and resolutions to clients and key stakeholders.
  • Ensures all client-facing communication is account-informed โ€” referencing pre-sale history that was made known at the point of account assignment,statedclient priorities, and established relationship context. Establishes onboarding standards at account assignment so that no client receives generic outbound communication. On sensitive, impact-related, or risk-related topics,ensurecross-functional internal alignment is reached before outbound communication is issued. Owns the standard and holds the team to it.
  • Collaborates with Sales leadership toidentifygrowth opportunities within key accounts and contribute toupsellandchangeorder strategy.

Problem Solving & Execution

  • Identi๏ฌes and resolves internal and external roadblocks that impede project progress.
  • Owns escalation management across the portfolio โ€” recognizing when project, client, or agency issues require elevation, drivingtimelyresolution, and ensuring theappropriate internalstakeholders are engaged before situations become crises.
  • Steps in to provide direct support on high-complexity or high-risk situations requiring senior judgment. Drives accountability across the project team to ensure commitments are met.
  • Proactively drives project progress byanticipatingdelays, initiating action before milestones are at risk, andmaintainingforward momentum across the portfolio โ€” without waiting for issues to surface.
  • Attends planning board meetings and presentspermittingrelated data and project information asrequired.
  • Holds accountability for the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of project data and notes across the portfolio. Ensures that project records re๏ฌ‚ectcurrent status, decisions, and historyalwaysโ€” and that data standards aremaintainedby direct-report PMs, and SPMs as a non-negotiable element of project execution.โ€ฏ

What Youโ€™ll Bring

Required:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, withdemonstratedleadership responsibilities.
  • Proventrack recordmanaging a portfolio of concurrent projects and leading teams across PM and Sr. Project Manager levels.
  • Experience with industry-speci๏ฌcregulatory processes, municipal agencies, andpermittingjurisdictions.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Pro๏ฌciency in Microsoft O๏ฌƒce suite; familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems.

Preferred:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant ๏ฌeld (architecture, urban planning, engineering, or related) and/or equivalent professional experience in permitting, construction management, ora relateddiscipline.
  • Advanced degree and / or PMP certification.โ€ฏ

Work Environment & Schedule

  • This position is remote with a focus on the Mid-Atlantic Region (DC, VA, MD).
  • Standard working hours are Monday- Friday, 8:30-5:00 PM.
  • Travel requirements: Must be willing to travel to building departments in this region for in-person submissions or meetings, whenrequired. (Travel Reimbursement will be provided)

  • Salary range: $100,000โ€“ $125,000, based on knowledge, skills, and experience.
