This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while fostering professional growth within the team.

Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the SPM acts as the main point of contact for their assigned project teams, providing guidance, problem-solving support, and oversight of performance. While this position manages people, it does not carry departmental leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership
Directly supervise assigned PMs and APMs, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to meet project goals.
Ensure all PMs and APMs are clearly identified on the organizational chart.
Maintain a direct feedback loop from the PM team to the Director of Project Management and CFO for all project issues.
Conduct regular one-on-one check-ins to review performance, provide coaching, and identify areas for improvement and risk.
Assign and balance workloads among team members.
Foster a collaborative, solutions-focused environment that supports professional development.
Ensure PMs and APMs follow company standards and processes established by the Director of Project Management.

Project Oversight
Oversee project delivery from kickoff through closeout for assigned portfolio.
Review and approve project schedules, budgets, change orders, and progress reports prepared by PMs.
Monitor project performance against goals, proactively addressing risks and issues.
Participate in key client and stakeholder meetings to represent project status and resolve challenges.
Ensure consistent application of company quality standards and contractual requirements
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment.

Risk & Financial Management
Review PM budget projections, cost-to-complete reports, and schedule forecasts to identify risks.
Support PMs in developing solutions to keep projects on track and within budget.
Ensure compliance with contracts, codes, and company policies. Client & Stakeholder Relations
Maintain open, professional communication with clients, design teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
Support PMs in building and sustaining positive relationships that promote repeat business.
Escalate issues to the Director of Project Management as needed. Mentorship & Development
Provide guidance, feedback, and technical expertise to PMs and APMs.
Identify training needs and recommend development opportunities to the Director of Project Management.
Model professionalism, accountability, and a solutions-oriented approach. Required Experience, Traits & Skills
A minimum of 10 years' experience of high-end construction project management.
A college degree preferred but not required if industry-specific professional experience makes up for it.
Architectural and/or Engineering degree an absolute PLUS.
Experience managing high end residential projects from $5M to $40M.
Understand and decipher legal contract language, code, and technical construction technologies.
Proficiency with MS Office and MS Project or other similar scheduling software, including Smartsheet.
Experience with Spectrum and Procore a definite PLUS.
Ability to read blueprints and understand technical documents.
Highly organized, energetic, focused, and detail oriented.
Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a 'can do' attitude, dedicated to the success of the team.
Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines.
Fast learner, with the ability to learn new software with ease.
Highly resourceful problem solver.
Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Poised and mature attitude, always remaining calm under pressure.
Commitment to delivering excellence in customer service.
