Job description

 Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant performs staff level accounting duties in support of the accounting, administrative, and financial planning duties of the business’ corporate accounting group. Responsibilities include completing journal entries, account reconciliations and management reports required to complete the monthly financial close. Leads the documentation of financial processes, identifying key controls, and ensuring the Company has effective internal controls over financial reporting. Additional financial projects will be assigned as needed.      

What you’ll be doing:

  • Financial Processes and Internal Controls: document existing financial processes, identify key controls, and ensure controls are designed to address all relevant financial statement assertions over financial reporting, including information technology and entity controls preventing or detecting fraud.
  • Understand newly issued accounting guidance impacting the Company’s financial reporting, researching GAAP compliance issues, and drafting related position papers.
  • Assist in month-end close activities including journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Responsible for portions of the monthly reporting process including operational results and analysis for North America and the Global consolidated Company results.
  • Coordinate monthly financial close and related analysis of results provided by regional financial reporting teams.
  • Assist with the development of expanded regional financial reporting package and analysis.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the new ERP system (July 2019 implementation), assist with end-user testing and become a subject matter expert to provide guidance and address questions from regional accounting teams in APAC, South America and EMEA.
  • Ensure the consistency of adhering to financial policies and practices globally.
  • Populate the financial Key Performance Indicators submitted to the Company’s ownership.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of foreign currency and the impact on the Company’s consolidated financial statements.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of consolidating the Company’s financial results, eliminations, balance sheet revaluations, etc.
  • Assist with the annual global and local statutory audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for:

  • Two to four years of experience in general accounting and/or financial reporting.
  • Public accounting work experience is preferred.
  • Hands on experience in Data Analysis, Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting, Microsoft Dynamics GP, General Ledger Accounting, Month-End Close, Compliance (Financial), Financial Applications.

Bonus Points:

  • CPA preferred.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Travel:

  • 10%
