About the Role

  • Job Title: Data Center Energy Marshal
  • Location: Columbus, Indianapolis, Atlanta, Lynchburg


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the on-site technical specialist for electrical system installation, testing, and startup activities.
  • Review electrical installation for compliance with design, QA/QC requirements, and commissioning readiness.
  • Support energy isolation planning: develop, review, and approve switching plans, LO/TO procedures, and safe-energization steps.
  • Act as Energy Marshall during energization milestones; control access to energized areas and validate readiness criteria.
  • Conduct field verification of MV, LV, grounding, and control systems; maintain deficiency lists and follow up to closure.
  • Support commissioning agents during functional testing, IST, and energization sequencing.
  • Participate in electrical risk assessments and provide SME input on mitigation strategies.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of electrical systems: MV distribution, switchgear, UPS, generators, grounding, and protective relaying.
  • Demonstrated experience with energization planning and energy isolation management.
  • Ability to interpret one-lines, schematics, panel schedules, and testing documentation.

Salary and Other Compensation: The annual [salary/hourly rate] for this position is between [$170,000 - $190,000 annually]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
