The Department of Film, Animation and New Media in the College of Arts and Letters is seeking a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of 3D Animation and Game Development to teach classes including 3D Animation, Modeling, Rigging, and XR/ AR/VR Development.

The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of more than 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area.

UT reflects this vibrancy; with 24 consecutive years of enrollment growth UT boasts 260 student organizations, a multicultural student body from 50 states and more than 100 countries, and "Top Tier" ranking in U.S. News and World Report.

The teaching load is 3 courses (12 credit hours) per semester over two 15-week semesters per academic year.

Successful applicants will hold a terminal degree such as an MFA, MPS, or PhD by time of appointment to teach undergraduate and possibly graduate courses.

The selected candidate must be able to work legally in the USA by August 1st, 2027.

Ideal candidates should have a strong background with industry standard 3D Tools such as Maya, Blender, Z-Brush, etc., as well as working knowledge of game engines such as Unreal Engine and/or Unity.

In addition, experience of blueprints and other programming or scripting languages is highly desirable.

Candidates must demonstrate potential for outstanding teaching, strong written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to high academic standards.

The University delivers challenging and high-quality educational experiences to a diverse group of learners.
