Job Description:
Vertiv is hiring a Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Technician dedicated to supporting the operation of the Anderson manufacturing plant. They will execute continuous improvement projects, implement lean manufacturing, and improve safety, quality, and efficiency of work processes. Manufacturing Engineering Technicians will do time studies, write standard work, write standard operating procedures (SOPs). They will also have hands-on tasks such as designing carts, racks, and fixtures to improve the operation. They will report to the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Supervisors.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Safety and Health departments to assure production areas set up, provide tooling and fixtures to productive areas, and notify any engineering change to production associates and leaders.
  • Implement and sustain new manufacturing processes.
  • Work closely with Design Engineering to support DFM, track large project engineering milestones to ensure seamless integration with production.
  • Support MEs with new equipment specification.
  • Support MEs with CAR creation.
  • Modify existing CAD drawings and provide engineering support.
  • Analyze quality issues and provide potential solutions for quality corrections.
  • Lead lean initiatives and drive significant operational improvements.
  • Lead safety training and ensure team-wide compliance with safety standards.
  • Lead process optimization efforts focusing on cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage small projects and coordinate teams effectively.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation systems for process control and quality.
  • Lead cross-functional teams while providing mentorship and technical expertise.
  • Identify root causes of manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Implement appropriation requests for machines, software, or tooling through written documentation with supporting information.
  • Guarantee the compliance of company procedures and policies.

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or productive areas transferences desirable.
  • Strong ability to write technical documentation such as SOPs.
  • Solid modeling/CAD proficiency (viewing/manipulating drawings)
  • Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure.
  • Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
  • High English proficiency (read, write, and speak).
  • Experience using MRP, PLM, or Enterprise systems in Engineering or Manufacturing.
  • Strong foundation in 5S, lean manufacturing, and other SPC quality tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Physical & Environmental Demands: -
  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Will occasionally need to lift to 40lbs.

Time Travel Required: -
  • 10% (Would primarily be local travel to vendors, other Vertiv sites, or warehouses.)
