CER (Communications and external relations)

The ideal candidate blends AI expertise and creative vision with analytical rigor to maximize the impact of One World Bank Group communications.

Key Responsibilities:

AI, Measurement, Data, and Analytics: At the core of this role is AI effectiveness and implementation. This person will oversee the integration of AI into the ECR ecosystem. This includes media monitoring, measurement and analytics, and content performance across channels (web, social media, publications) and more. Champion the responsible use of AI to automate routine tasks and enhance analysis, leveraging AI across workflows to boost efficiency and innovation within ECR. Establish KPIs and a framework for evaluating communication effectiveness and use these insights to recommend improvements. Present regular reports on content engagement and to reach senior leadership.

Content Strategy & Insights: Develop and implement a content strategy informed by data analytics and audience research. Leverage content performance data and trends (including AI-driven insights) to guide editorial calendars and creative priorities. Use storytelling through data to enhance engagement and refine content approaches.

Creative Services Oversight: Lead the creative services team (designers, writers, multimedia producers) to produce high-quality visual and written content aligned with strategic goals. Integrate new technologies and tools-including AI driven content tools-to improve content creation and audience engagement, ensuring all creative output meets brand standards and effectively communicates key messages.

Translation Services: Modernize translation platforms across the WBG (including AI assisted translation tools) to improve efficiency and consistency in multilingual content delivery while upholding rigorous quality control.

Research Communications: Collaborate with research teams to distill technical reports and data-heavy findings into accessible content for external audiences. Develop communications strategies for effectively deploying major research publications, including summaries, infographics, and media briefs that highlight key insights.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with other ECRCM communications managers to align content themes and ensure that data/insights inform broader campaigns. Champion innovative content formats (interactive media, data visualizations) to increase audience engagement. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring the World Bank Group's content strategy remains forward-thinking yet risk-aware.
