Guidewire Systems Analyst
Location: San Antonio, TX (Preferred) Plano TX( Possible)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Systems Analyst to support the design, analysis, and delivery of Guidewire-based insurance solutions. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, developers, and QA teams to translate business requirements into functional and technical solutions within the Guidewire platform.
The ideal candidate possesses strong Guidewire expertise, excellent analytical skills, and experience facilitating requirements gathering, system design discussions, and technical refinement activities across agile delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational processes and identify solution opportunities.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Participate in system design sessions and support solution architecture alignment.
  • Lead and facilitate backlog refinement, technical grooming, and requirements clarification meetings.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of Guidewire solutions.
  • Create and maintain process flows, use cases, data mappings, and functional design documentation.
  • Support system integration analysis and identify dependencies across platforms.
  • Assist with testing strategy development, test case review, defect triage, and user acceptance testing.
  • Provide guidance on Guidewire platform capabilities, best practices, and solution design recommendations.
  • Support production issue analysis, root cause investigations, and ongoing platform enhancements.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or related role.
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience working with the Guidewire platform.
  • Strong understanding of Guidewire InsuranceSuite applications, including:
    • PolicyCenter
    • ClaimCenter
    • BillingCenter (preferred)
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Experience supporting system design and technical refinement activities within Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Guidewire certification(s) strongly preferred.
  • Guidewire Cloud certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting Guidewire Cloud implementations or modernization initiatives.
  • Insurance industry experience, preferably within Property & Casualty (P&C).
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations, cloud-based architectures, and microservices.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
