Akima Facilities Operations is looking for a Ammo Supply Point Supervisor to help with operations at our project site in Ft. Hunter Liggett, CA. ASP Supervisor is responsible responsible for overseeing the safe, secure, and efficient handling, storage, and movement of ammunition and explosive materials. Responsibilities
  • Safety and Security Oversight:
    • Ensure all ammunition is stored in magazines or on approved pads in compliance with federal, state, and military regulations.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of storage areas to verify safety and compliance.
    • Investigate and respond to any incidents or discrepancies in ammunition records.
  • Inventory and Accountability:
    • Supervise the receipt, storage, issuance, and tracking of ammunition and explosive materials.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels to support operational requirements.
    • Prepare and review ammunition storage waivers and quality assurance/control reports.
  • Training and Mentorship:
    • Develop and deliver training plans, handouts, and visual aids on ammunition handling and safety.
    • Train and mentor staff on proper storage, handling, and maintenance techniques.
    • Provide technical guidance to personnel on ammunition operations.
  • Operational Support:
    • Coordinate daily delivery schedules and confirm them with training events.
    • Plan and supervise ammunition packaging, and movement by all types of transportation.
    • Assist in surveying and evaluating facilities for ammunition storage operations.
    • Recommend technical assistance teams and plan labor, equipment, and supply needs.
  • Compliance and Reporting.
    • Apply doctrine, regulations, and directives to ammunition operations.
    • Prepare or review evaluations and reports on operational training matters.
    • Analyze ammunition stock with automatic data processing assistance.

Qualifications
  • Safety Regulations - Strong knowledge of handling, storage, and disposal of explosives.
  • Technical Skills - Proficiency in ammunition systems, storage facilities, and logistics.
  • Leadership - Ability to lead teams, mentor employees, and maintain high morale.
  • Regulatory Knowledge - Familiarity with IAW, ASP, and other relevant standards.
  • Analytical Skills - Ability to manage inventory, forecast needs, and report on operational readiness.
  • 5 years experience working with military ammunition and explosives.
  • Experience leading a small team of employees.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
