Job Description

The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer. We have domestic ammunition manufacturing facilities in Minnesota, Idaho, Arkansas, and Missouri, and service law enforcement, government agencies and sporting enthusiasts throughout the world. Today, The Kinetic Group is a part of the Ammo+ division of The Czechoslovak Group (CSG), which holds a diverse portfolio of companies in the defense, security, automotive, aerospace and rail industries.

The Material Handler is responsible to safely transport materials between locations on a timely basis to assure a continued flow of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods. Support to production is the primary objective.

This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor and is based out of our Anoka Location.

Shift Information:

  • Weekend Night (Q) Shift: 7pm - 7am (or 6-6 depending on department placement) Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and every other Thursday.

  • Training will likely be held on a different shift

Compensation Information: $24.25/hour + applicable shift differential with the first 90 day increase to $26.49 and additional increases every 90 days based upon performance, up to $34.02.

What you'll do:

  • Transport completed products, work-in-process, raw material and scrap between operations and also to and from warehouses on a timely basis.

  • Informs supervisor when materials are unavailable or won't be available immediately.

  • Serves as a go-between with supervisor and co-workers.

  • Keeps forklift properly maintained and battery charged.

  • Observes all applicable safety and housekeeping rules and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to supervisor.

  • Demonstrates respect for Federal property and facilities including, forklifts, raw materials, WIP, racking, etc.

  • Maintains general housekeeping by sweeping non-production areas and using mechanical sweeper and mechanical scrubber.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Must be able to manage time efficiently

  • Ability to adapt quickly to unforeseen events

  • Act in a polite and courteous manner to fellow employees

  • To reasonably be able to know where a product should be

  • Must ask questions when unsure of what to do

  • Must be able to remember locations

  • Demonstrated safety first attitude

  • Capable of operating forklift (we will train, no previous experience required)

  • Good numerical recognition and comprehension

  • Ability to understand instructions

  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively within a work team

  • Computer experience, or willing to learn

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision

  • Ability to multitask and organize workload

  • High School Diploma or GED is required

You may have:

  • Forklift experience

  • Material handling experience


Physical Requirements: 95% Constant moving, driving forklift, getting on and off forklift as many as 100 times per shift, pushing or pulling hand trucks with loads up to 1000 lbs., ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly, stooping, bending, walking. Near vision, far vision, depth perception and field of vision for safety. 5% paperwork and equipment maintenance.


Mental Requirements: High attention to safety; Reading and math comprehension; Good memory; Ability to read a basic floor layout map; Accurately prioritize the needs and wants on floor to keep it running smoothly and efficiently.


Equipment Used: Fork lift and mechanical sweeper and scrubber.

Working Environment: Work environment is a factory. Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, vibration, moving objects, mechanical equipment hazards, and chemicals. Work is most often done with and around others as an individual in this position. Supervisor and Group Lead are available for questions. Overtime is required on an as needed basis.

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$24.25 - $34.02

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
