Job Description

Ameritech Facility Services is seeking a full time and experienced jack-of-all-trades technician/handyman willing to travel and assist clients with building repairs. Most locations are retail and restaurant customers who need help solving construction related issues; trouble shoot, diagnose and repair. Ability to build relationships is very important. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in carpentry with a basic understanding of electrical, flooring and plumbing. Must be able to pass a background check.

Basic Skills in the following Trades:

  • Minor plumbing connections (sink supply and drain lines)
  • Minor electrical connections (disconnect and reconnect equipment)
  • Roofing Repairs
  • Concrete Repairs
  • Stucco Repairs
  • Fencing
  • Asphalt Repairs
  • Carpet Repairs
  • Tile Repairs
  • Use of basic tools and the ability to install or assemble by following instructions
  • Handling projects when needed
  • Heavy lifting, standing, bending, and reaching
  • Most work will be day time fixing commercial buildings. Some nights and weekends may be required.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize; must follow special instructions and schedules
  • Effective communication
  • Maintaining a clean and professional appearance

Must have the following:

  • Commercial Construction Experience (5+ years), preferably restaurant
  • Ability to travel regionally (50-75%)
  • Clean driving record and personal transportation
  • Tools (drills, saws, hammers, ladders, cords, shop vac, caulking gun, etc). Specialty tools will be rented (concrete saw, jackhammer, etc)
  • Cell phone
  • Good communications skills, ability to scan, email photos and utilize apps from cell phone
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to learn other skills
