Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position in a large adult and pediatric critical care hospital setting, requiring an active OH RRT license.

Details
  • 700-bed hospital with 7 adult ICUs of 16 beds each, plus pediatric and adult acute care units
  • Treats adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients including Peds ER cases
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 07:00
  • Floating required within the Metro Region between Toledo, Flower, and Bay Park Hospitals, including mid-shift floating as needed
  • Performs both general and critical respiratory care including ventilation management, airway management, intubation/extubation assistance, and blood gas sampling
  • Manages invasive and non-invasive ventilation including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Administers medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, Pulmicort, and others via various delivery systems
  • Uses Epic for charting
  • Uses equipment including Servo I, Avea, and Bella Vista ventilators
Requirements
  • Active RRT license required (Ohio RRT license required in hand at time of submission)
  • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required, after obtaining license
  • Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience required
  • High risk delivery experience preferred; candidates without experience must be open to on-site high risk training
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience with airway management devices including ET tube suctioning, tracheostomy care, and nasal/oral airway placement
  • Experience with ABG interpretation required
  • Experience with bronchoscopy patient care required
  • Comfortable providing basic pediatric respiratory therapy care, though specific pediatric hospital experience not required
  • License required if applicable
Additional Information
  • Assists with high risk deliveries and pediatric patients in addition to adult and geriatric populations
  • Responds to rapid responses and emergency codes and performs CPR as needed
  • Responsible for changing tubing and bags for invasive/arterial lines on Toledo and Bay Park campuses
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Grey scrub color required
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
