Job description:
Flex-N-Gate Effingham is looking for an experienced Tool Maker. The Tool Maker will fabricate and repair molding dies, fixtures, guages, and tools.
Responsibilities
  • Examine form and texture of plastic parts to detect imperfections on Class A surfaces
  • Dismantle dies to assess repair and tool
  • Study specifications such as blue prints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
  • Lift dies with overhead cranes
  • Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances
  • Examine tools and recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of the part
  • Working knowledge of mill, lathe, surface grinder, TIG welding
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical trouble shooting

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in tool and die repair role.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding tools preferred
  • Ability to perform fabrication and repairs utilizing machinery
  • Experience with overhead cranes preferred
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
