Founded in 1989, AAR has continuously provided construction quality assurance, quality control, special inspection, and materials testing services throughout Washington State. AAR is a Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) certified independent special inspection and materials testing agency headquartered in Redmond, Washington. Our laboratories in Redmond, Lacey, and Wenatchee are accredited by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).
Job Description
  • Material Testing (Certifications Required)
  • Review approved construction drawings and specifications
  • Communicate with contractor workers, foremen, superintendents, project managers, building inspectors and report findings
  • Write concise inspection reports using specific language pertaining to contract documents, approved drawings, and any applicable code
  • Communicate with AAR office to report inspection observations, scheduling and sample pick up coordination
  • Inspection and verification of materials for compliance to the plans and specifications
  • Accurately complete quality records relating to material testing
  • Review of contract documents
  • Ensure that contractors comply with specifications
  • The ability to obtain additional certifications to perform in-field material testing
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • No previous experience in the construction industry is required
  • Preference to one or more of the following certifications: ACI, Nuclear Gauge, WABO, WAQTC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
  • Energetic, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize and manage a multi-task workload

Salary Range: $22-34/hour, depending on qualifications
