Salary Range:

$70,068.00 - $108,605.00The Security Manager directly assists with the overall management of Security Services operations including supervising and coordinating the efforts of the first line supervisors, officers, and the investigator. The Security Manager ensures compliance with AMC policies/practices, as well as compliance with regulatory agencies. The Security Manager runs incident response, conducts risk assessments, acts as the liaison with local law enforcement and acts as the department administrator in the absence of the Director of Security Services.

Education:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required

Licensure, Certification & Registration:

  • Valid NYS Driver's License required
  • Completion of the NYS MPTC Campus Public Safety Officer (CPSO) Course preferred
  • Basic Course for Police Officers preferred

Experience:

  • Experience in a hospital environment is desirable
  • Min. 5-year experience as Security Officer or Police Officer preferred
  • Min 2-year supervisory experience required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Must possess good judgement, emotional control, objectivity and sounds decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Exceptional ability to remain calm, make quick decisions under pressure, and lead teams through high-stress emergencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for compiling reports and presenting security improvement plans to leadership.
  • Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position without or with reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to coordinate efforts and communicate effectively with all hospital and college constituencies and to provide leadership that assures an efficient security function.
