Job description

This Software Engineering Manager leads a team of Software Development Engineers who automate security processes, build security guardrails for AI assisted development, and deliver security solutions across Amazon's Devices & Services organization. The portfolio includes Alexa, Fire TV, smart home ecosystems, e-readers, mesh WiFi networking systems, cloud connected cameras, home security platforms, autonomous vehicle systems, and enterprise networking and IoT solutions.
The scope is broad by design. This team secures products that millions of customers and businesses use daily across a portfolio that spans consumer electronics, enterprise infrastructure, and autonomous systems

The manager who succeeds here moves fast across domains, makes decisions with incomplete information, and builds systems that scale across product lines rather than solving one problem at a time.
Key job responsibilities
You will define the team's charter and technical vision with stakeholders, then own the roadmap that delivers on that vision. This means making explicit tradeoffs between short term delivery and long term architecture, and communicating those tradeoffs clearly to engineering leadership.
You will lead architectural decisions across the full stack. You will define and track metrics that measure development velocity, customer experience, and operational health, and you will hold the team accountable to SLA commitments.
You will stay current with emerging AI technologies and guide the team toward adopting agentic development practices that enable continuous, automated development workflows

You will mentor and grow engineers who build in an AI native development environment.
