Job description

The Amazon Devices & Services Business Development organization is looking for a results-oriented, data-driven Business Operations Manager to own end-to-end payment operations across 10+ business units. You will ensure partners receive accurate, on-time payments while driving process improvements and automation that reduce manual effort and scale operations for new business models.
This role sits at the intersection of partner management, financial operations, and systems optimization. You will manage royalty payments, performance-based payments, connectivity costs, contractual fees, and work order execution, directly impacting the quality of Amazon's device partnerships

You will identify pain points through data, define remediation actions, and measure resulting improvements.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner Payment Execution: Execute daily payment operations such as partner onboarding, payment planning, payment execution, and partner payment issue resolution.
- Workflow Management: Manage day-to-day business operations tasks to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of partner payments/invoices through internal and external engagement.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize internal and external processes, ensuring maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Automation Solutions: Evaluate current processes and systems to identify areas for automation, and lead initiatives to implement automation solutions that increase productivity and reduce manual effort.
- Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including: Business Development, Finance, Product, Accounting, and Engineering to complete day-to-day operations and opportunities to streamline workflows.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, informing strategic decision-making and driving continuous optimization of business operations; deliver reports on the same


- Training and Documentation: Develop and maintain training materials and documentation for processes and systems, ensuring that team members are equipped to effectively utilize tools and follow established procedures.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and contractual agreements, and implement measures to continuously monitor and improve quality in business operations.
A day in the life
As a Business Operations Manager, you will be responsible for influencing internal and external partners to manage end-to-end business operations for Amazon Devices partnership payments and reporting. The successful candidate will be experienced at leading cross-functional projects and execute quickly across internal and external teams. They are a self-starter who can listen, form insight, and execute while defining the strategic vision for process improvement and automation across the organization

They will balance earning their stakeholders' trust while delivering against tight timelines. A desire to dive deep to understand the business and ability to build a trusted network with stakeholder teams and external partners is essential to this role. To start, you will spend 60% of your time executing partnership contractual terms with the remaining 40% on project work to unlock new business and drive improvements to existing work streams.
To be successful in this role, you will have to: 1) be detail-oriented and organized, 2) build relationships with internal teams and external partners, 3) clearly communicate verbally and in writing, 4) learn partners' unique internal processes and work with them to drive improvements, 5) be comfortable navigating nuanced payment and financial details, and 6) enjoy solving problems

The successful candidate is able to effectively prioritize and multi-task while managing numerous cross functional projects.
About the team
This role sits on the Business Development Sale Operations (BDSO) team which manages centralized operations for: channel distribution, payment operations, new business model enablement, and our systems/AI tool strategy. Business development operations and systems are managed with a focus on sustainability and continuous improvement to enable scalability and new business opportunities.
The role supports payment operations for 10+ business units across the Devices Business Development organization

We drive payments across teams work on connectivity solutions, content/technology licensing, character branding, smart vehicles, TV manufacturer partnerships, and sales channel development. This role plays a critical role in partnership execution and evaluation of new business models, helping the Business Development team deliver the best possible outcomes for Amazon customers.
