Job description

The KDP Tandem team owns the author experience for creating audiobooks from companion eBooks. The team is responsible for developing features that enable KDP authors to create audiobooks (internally called VVABs - Virtual Voice AudioBooks) using an existing eBook's metadata and manuscript - powered by machine-learning text-to-speech technology.
We are looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive delivery across this complex, multi-service domain. You will own program planning, cross-team coordination, dependency management, and launch readiness for new features and marketplace expansions. * Drive cross-team coordination across the full VVAB lifecycle: publishing pipeline, Title Setup Add-on, bookshelf integration, eligibility, post-publish sync, subscription/Audible+ integration, royalty reporting, and store UX
* Manage the technical roadmap across phased delivery - including multi-marketplace expansion, voice/language additions, audio file upload, and KDP Select/KU integration
* Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks
* Define and track launch readiness criteria across engineering, CRM/content review, legal, finance, and customer experience
* Drive mechanisms (e.g., weekly program reviews, dependency trackers, escalation paths) to maintain velocity and transparency across partner teams
* Author and present program status documents to senior leaders across organizations.
* Partner with product management to evaluate trade-offs between speed-to-market and feature completeness, and recommend sequencing decisions
* Own cross-service operational excellence - monitoring, alarming, and runbook coverage across Tandem's service portfolio
A day in the life
The Tandem team owns the full VVAB lifecycle: the publishing pipeline (creation, review, update, unpublish), the Title Setup Add-on (pricing, voice selection, pronunciation configuration), bookshelf integration, eligibility management, post-publish eBook-to-VVAB sync, subscription integration with Audible+/KDP Select, royalty reporting, author notifications, content administration (CAPA), and store UX features. The team works with multiple engineering teams spanning KDP, Audible.
This role requires someone who thrives in ambiguity, can decompose large cross-team programs into executable plans, and communicates effectively with both engineers and senior business leaders. You will work closely with product managers, software development engineers, UX designers, content review teams, legal, and finance to deliver a product that serves millions of authors worldwide.
