Job description

Amazon Design Excellence is seeking a talented, creative and experienced Sr. Design Program Manager of Communications & Content to join our team as we work to create thriving conditions for design and creative excellence at Amazon. This role will own and evolve the communications strategy for Amazon's design community, driving the full lifecycle of internal and external communications - from producing the monthly design newsletter and managing the Amazon.Design website, to identifying and launching new channels that expand our reach and activate our community

The right candidate will be equal parts operator and strategist: someone who can ship a polished newsletter in the morning and pitch a bold new content strategy in the afternoon.
Key job responsibilities
Communications Operations & Execution
- Own the end-to-end production of the Amazon Design monthly newsletter, including content sourcing, writing/editing, formatting, and distribution to the design community
- Draft and send regular communications (emails, announcements, updates) to designers across Amazon
- Develop and execute event communications strategy
- Manage updates to the Amazon Design internal hub and external website, coordinating directly with partners to scope, prioritize, and ship changes
- Maintain and evolve communications templates, distribution lists, and operational cadences to ensure consistency and reliability
Strategic Channel Expansion
- Develop and execute a communications strategy that expands ADX's reach beyond existing channels - identifying new internal and external marketing opportunities to engage designers where they are
- Evaluate and recommend new platforms, formats, and content types to grow audience and deepen engagement
- Define success metrics for communications initiatives and use data to iterate on what's working
- Build the case for investment in new channels, presenting recommendations to leadership
Content Creation & Agency Management
- Edit and elevate content from across the design organization, ensuring quality, voice consistency, and alignment with our brand
- Produce scrappy, effective content that drives engagement - the kind that gets people talking and activating across the community
- Identify when external support is needed and manage agency relationships to supplement content production, ensuring quality output on time and on budget
Community Activation & Engagement
- Partner closely with Community, Events, and External Reputation leads to ensure communications amplify and reinforce programs
- Drive engagement across Slack channels, internal forums, and other community touchpoints - creating moments that spark conversation and connection
- Track and report on community engagement metrics, using insights to refine communications approach
