Job description

Amazon shipping is seeking a strategic and results driven leader to join as a Sr. Business Development Manager (BDM) for US Physical Locations, focusing on building and scaling our Counter Partner network. We are looking for a talented individual who is able to work in an ambiguous environment, manage multiple stakeholders; and lead initiatives to design, acquire, and deploy physical locations to serve shipping customer needs. You will have a detailed and analytical mindset Thinking Big to chart the next 3+ years of evolution, and Earning Trust as we look to engage with new partners to expand our physical footprint. This role will be responsible to liaise with key stakeholders across External Partners, Amazon Shipping Commercial, Product, Tech, and Operations teams. You will be a natural self-starter who is comfortable working with data, driving complex cross-functional Programs and will have a strong management and analytical skills, and be an effective communicator.
You will be working in a cross-functional role, representing the face to our most strategic partners, driving usage of our service and working to continuously improve our mechanisms, tools and processes.
As a Sr. BDM, you will own the US partner acquisition and account management for growth of the Charter. You should have proven experience in strategy, deal negotiations, external sales, large-scale execution, entrepreneurial innovation, and working cross functionally with product, technology, and operations teams. This role requires strong business judgment, ability to influence cross-functional and remotely located teams, a customer-centric and creative mindset and strong analytical skills are also essential. Strong document writing and presentation skills are a must. Candidates should be energized coming into an undefined space and driving clarity.
Key job responsibilities
Develop and execute the strategic framework to grow Amazon Shipping's counter partner network to service a portfolio of business lines.
Strategic partner selection and management to meet customers at the correct transaction points across the US.
Develop brand awareness and adoption strategies as we continue to expand service offerings.
Act as the single threaded leader across internal business lines to drive cohesion, identify synergies, and align priorities and roadmaps toward execution.
Develop multi year partner acquisition and management strategy inclusive of 1P and 3P offerings to drive optional network design.
Lead and/or support in key leadership update documents such as MBR/QBR, WW VP goals review.
Deliver clear and concise updates on status of the Program with detailed commentary on key challenges, risks and mitigations implemented.

Key job responsibilities
Partner Acquisition: Identify high potential counter partners that will improve the Customer Experience of Amazon Shipping. Drive contractual negotiations for partnerships.
Account Management: Maintain and improve relationships with both 1P and 3P counter partners to continually improve operations and elevate customer experience.
Network Development: Define success criteria for a Dense and Convenient counter network. Identify and close gaps in counter coverage and service offerings to meet business unit growth and revenue goals.
Work backwards from customer needs, earning trust by diving deep into financial, operational, and customer-experience data to design tailored Amazon Shipping solutions that reframe how customers think about shipping physical locations.
Deliver perspective and influence decisions by introducing data-backed insights, clarifying the costs of the status quo, and guiding customers through complex decision cycles toward measurable business outcomes.
Serve as the voice of the customer, translating market signals and customer feedback into clear inputs for Product, Tech, Operations, and other Amazon teams to improve features, performance, and scalability.
Define and own program goals and metrics, track progress rigorously, remove obstacles, and manage through ambiguity to deliver long-term customer value and sustained business impact.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- 5+ years of Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience
- 5+ years of working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience explaining complex technical concepts to various business and technical audiences
- Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements
- MBA

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
