Job Summary
The Career Development Coordinator ll will assist in providing leadership and direction for career development and graduate and professional school planning; providing both co-curricular programming and advising to students and alumni. The Career Development Coordinator ll will serve as the primary liaison to select majors in the College of Arts & Sciences and College of Health Sciences and will help lead the planning of two fairs a year and the development and implementation of graduate and professional school programming.
Responsibilities
Advising - 50
- Advise and coach students in one-on-one and group settings (including workshops and class presentations) on various career-related and graduate/professional school planning topics to include but not limited to c/v, cover letters and resume reviews, mock interviews, career and major exploration, personal statement reviews, graduate school and professional school application process, career transition topics, graduate and professional school search strategies, and shadowing/internships/job search strategies.
- Stay current on trends, resources, research, and recruitment activities that impact students' employability, as well as those affecting students applying to graduate and professional schools.
- Research career information and resources to assist students with graduate/professional school planning and career decision-making.
Program Management - 30
- Develop, manage, coordinate, and implement graduate and professional school and career development information/resources and co-curricular career development programming.
- Programming to include but not limited to two fairs, information sessions with graduate admissions representatives visiting campus, professional development and graduate and professional school preparation activities such as workshops, networking events in partnership with the Employer Relations/Internships team, class presentations, and all other activities that support the Career Planning Milestones and student professional development needs.
- Lead student assistant training and supervising office interns and student staff.
Liaison - 15
- Serve as a liaison with assigned academic departments based on discipline clusters to communicate programs, services, and student needs.
- Partner with internal and external partners to connect students with additional resources that enhance career development efforts and employability.
- Disseminates information on graduate and professional school preparation, career development resources and makes appropriate referrals.
Other - 5
- Perform additional administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's degree in Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field.
Required Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in career services, academic advising, or related functional area with one-on-one advising.
- Candidates should have experience in and an understanding of career advising and program development at a collegiate level and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, faculty, alumni and employers.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience
2-3 years of full-time professional experience within career services or a similar functional area within higher education.
Proposed Salary
This position is a pay grade 8. The available salary range is $47,476.00 to $55,120.00. Starting salary within this range is based on relevant years of experience.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, program development and assessment, and presentation skills.
