The Westbrook School Department is seeking an Alternative Education Teacher at Westbrook High School for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Job Description 

Westbrook High School is seeking an Alternative Education Teacher. We are looking for a candidate with Alternative Education experience who is certified as a 7-12 content area teacher. Our Alternative Education program provides the opportunity for Alternative Education students to take courses that are smaller in size and creative in delivery while maintaining academic rigor. Our Alternative Education program also runs our Learning Lab, which serves all referred students from throughout the school who are in need of additional support in terms of academics or executive functioning skills, or both. The successful candidate will be a positive relationship builder, creative, organized, data-driven, detail-oriented, and a motivated self-starter.

About the School

Westbrook High School is proud to serve the City of Westbrook. Our learners represent 27 different countries of origin and speak over 17 languages other than English. The needs of individual learners are recognized and met through the work of our exemplary staff and diverse programming. We offer a wide range of extracurricular clubs, activities and athletic teams. Westbrook High School has become a springboard for students to join the military, enter the workforce or go onto college through relevant and rigorous coursework and the guidance of our Aspirations Counselor and Student Services Department.
