Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is currently searching for a full-time Custodian in Chicago, IL. Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is a diverse non-profit organization that specializes in the development and management of affordable housing and senior resident living communities.

  • Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Our Custodian will have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred
  • Reliable and dependable with good time management
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and equipment
  • Comfortable working in various environments and conditions
  • Physically able to lift bend, stand, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness

Our Custodian will:

  • Clean and maintain building areas, including floors, restrooms, and common spaces
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycling
  • Restock supplies and maintain cleanliness of restrooms
  • Report maintenance issues and ensure equipment is used safely
  • Support overall upkeep and appearance of the property

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is the oldest predominately black collegiate Greek-Lettered fraternity. The Eta Tau Lambda is an alumni chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, located in Akron, Oh, and was formed in 1960 specifically to support their local communities.Â
