Job description

Description
You Don't Just Run Jobsites. You Set the Pace.
Some people supervise work.
You lead production. You develop people. You solve problems before anyone else sees them coming.
At Alpha Inc., we're looking for a Civil Superintendent who thrives in the field, leads with confidence, and knows that great projects are built by great teams. You'll oversee multiple crews, coordinate complex operations, and help deliver the infrastructure that keeps Hawai?i moving.
This isn't a role for someone waiting to be told what to do.
It's for someone who shows up every day ready to own the outcome.
Why Alpha Inc.?
At Alpha, we're building more than roads, utilities, renewable energy systems, and infrastructure.
We're building careers, communities, and a legacy throughout Hawai'i.
Our success is driven by three core values that guide every decision we make:
Lead with Heart
Safety isn't just a policy-it's a promise. We believe great leaders care about people first while holding everyone to high standards.
Strength in Unity
The best projects happen when Foremen, operators, laborers, engineers, project managers, vendors, and clients work as one team.
Alpha Mentality
We attack challenges, solve problems before they become delays, and never settle for "good enough."
If those values sound like the way you already lead...
You'll fit right in.
What You'll Own
As the Civil Superintendent , you'll serve as the project-level field leader responsible for coordinating multiple crews, work areas, and phases of construction while partnering with Senior Superintendents and Project Managers to deliver safe, high-quality, profitable work.
You'll:
  • Lead multiple crews while driving production, safety, quality, and accountability
  • Coordinate Foremen, manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, inspections, and schedules
  • Keep projects moving by anticipating issues before they impact production
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure work meets plans, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
  • Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, production quantities, and project progress
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production documentation, safety records, inspections, and project communications
  • Communicate field conditions, schedule impacts, resource needs, and project status with project leadership
  • Coach and mentor Foremen while developing future leaders
  • Reinforce Alpha's expectations for professionalism, safety, housekeeping, and quality every day
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying issues and practical solutions

Who You Are
You're the kind of leader who earns respect because you're present, prepared, and willing to jump in when needed.
You don't manage from the truck.
You lead from the front.
You're someone who:
  • Thinks several steps ahead
  • Builds trust with crews
  • Holds people accountable with respect
  • Balances production with safety
  • Communicates clearly under pressure
  • Takes ownership when challenges arise
  • Wants to keep growing into larger operational leadership roles

What You Bring
We're looking for proven field leadership, including:
  • 5-8 years of successful experience as a Superintendent or comparable leadership role within heavy civil construction
  • Experience coordinating multiple crews and work fronts while maintaining production, quality, and safety
  • Strong knowledge of underground utilities, grading, excavation, trenching, earthwork, equipment coordination, project sequencing, and field operations
  • Solid understanding of OSHA regulations, trench safety, environmental compliance, and quality control
  • Ability to read construction plans, specifications, schedules, contracts, and project documentation
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and construction management software preferred
  • Valid driver's license required

This Role Is Perfect For Someone Who Wants To...
  • Step into larger project leadership
  • Mentor the next generation of Foremen
  • Build stronger crews and stronger culture
  • Take ownership of complex field operations
  • Work for a company where leadership actually supports the field
  • Build projects that leave a lasting impact across Kaua'i
