Job description

Our client is a trusted and established manufacturer of custom cultured marble fixtures, serving the St. Louis metropolitan area since 1978. Known for its commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction, the company offers a wide range of products, including countertops, vanities, and shower bases, all fabricated in-house from high-quality materials. With a focus on innovation and design, our client is looking to hire an experienced and results-driven Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations and drive efficiency and organizational growth.
Responsibilities
  • Select, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline employees. 
  • Work closely with GM and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation. 
  • Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements.  
  • Develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping. 
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations. 
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations. 
  • Meet or exceed operations labor budget expectations  
  • Perform analysis of inventory and ensure we are utilizing our inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data, and reducing sub-contractors' expenses. 
  • Serve as a primary point of contact when there is customer issues related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and mishaps on-site. 
  • Safeguards all company property against theft or damage including but not limited to computers, electronic equipment, phones, gas cards, trucks, and tools.   
  • Track employees’ skills set and levels and ensure proper training and cross-training of employees to achieve maximum productivity and labor utilization.   
  • Conduct quality inspections on completed work 
  • Assist with various other duties as needed. 
Qualifications
  • Must be able to pass a drug test. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred. 
  • Technical background working with natural stone and quartz fabrication. 
  • Experience and familiarity with blueprints, sketches, models, or project descriptions.  
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience with a minimum of 5 direct reports.  
  • Knowledge of fabrication production management. 
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations. 
  • Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts. 
  • Experience in reporting on key production metrics. 
  • Experience with CNC Saw & Routers and hand power saw, grinders and polishers 
  • Proficient in MS Office, Alpha Cam and Auto CAD. 
  • Good active learning, time management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and handle heavy material. 
  • Ability to speak fluent English, read, understand, and follow both verbal and written instructions. 
  • Strong attention to measurements and details 
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 75 pounds
  • May be required to work on an occasional weekend(s).
