Overview
Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS) is exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance productivity and operational efficiency across a global semiconductor organization. We are early in this journey and intentionally taking a measured approach given the risks associated with data security, confidentiality, and AI model training. 

This internship is designed for someone who can help us answer a fundamental question: Where should we start with AI-and how do we do it responsibly?

Duration: Summer 2026, 10–12 weeks

Key Responsibilities

  • Research practical AI use cases relevant to a semiconductor environment (e.g., Sales, HR, engineering workflows, manufacturing support, and corporate functions)
  • Analyze how peer companies and leading organizations are deploying AI tools while protecting confidential and proprietary information
  • Evaluate AI platforms (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, enterprise copilots) with a focus on data privacy, model training risk, and enterprise controls
  • Identify "low-risk, high-impact" opportunities for AI adoption within AOS
  • Develop guidelines and recommendations for safe and compliant use of AI, including guardrails around sensitive data
  • Liaise with external AI vendors/partners to understand capabilities, limitations, and security frameworks
  • Synthesize findings into clear, executive-ready recommendations, including a proposed starting roadmap

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, HR, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
  • Strong research and critical thinking skills; able to separate hype from practical application
  • Interest in AI with an appreciation for data privacy, security, and compliance considerations
  • Ability to communicate complex topics in a clear, business-oriented way
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity-we are building the playbook as we go
