Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful Initiation, Planning, Design, Execution, Monitoring, Controlling and Closure of the project. Ultimately accountable for the financial success as well as ensuring timelines and deliverables are met in accordance with pre-determined client expectations. The single point of contact for all stakeholders. The Project Manager will work directly with clients to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. He or she will coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
  • Review & understand SOWs and project contracts to determine time to deliver, allotment of available and required internal and/or third-party resources to various phases of project.
  • Responsible for coordinating all activities associated with the timely, accurate, and on-budget completion of the project.
  • Responsible for leading a project meeting among Sales, Engineers, customer resources, Finance (as needed), Third Party resources (as needed).
  • Responsible for effective communication to all project stakeholders including change orders and delivery, on-site visits (as needed).
  • Provide updates to management including weekly project review meetings.
  • Engage Finance/accounting and purchasing department personnel as needed for project purchases and/or equipment.
  • Review project status daily to keep it on schedule financially, identify problem areas, and spearhead resolution.
  • Provide clear and concise communications when there are any deviations to project scope, timeline, or financials.
  • Raise awareness immediately to management regarding potential issues or any costs that will affect Alpha financially on assigned projects.
  • Ensure that any scope, schedule, cost or change of terms are handled in accordance to stated change order procedures.
  • Retain responsibility for resolving all project related issues.
  • Prepare project reports as requested by management and PMO Director.
  • Respond to communications from customers regarding problems or concerns in a timely and professional manner with by returning all phone calls or emails.
  • Ensure that approved methods, processes and tools are consistently followed using Alpha’s documented Project Management Methodology.
  • All other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Up to 30% travel, occasionally on a last-minute basis.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Prior experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project scope change and billing within a for profit environment.
  • Experience using project tracking tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills demonstrated by managing multiple priorities/projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated by ability to lead client and internal team through the duration of the project.
  • Demonstrated clarity and accuracy of written documentation.
  • High level of organization
  • High level of job site familiarity i.e., construction and corporate atmosphere.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a team.
  • Ability to read and comprehend CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Resourceful.
  • Ability to solve unusual or unexpected problems.

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ Years Project Management Experience.
  • Four-year degree or combination of schooling and project management experience.
  • 3+ years audio visual and/or broadcast project management experience (preferred, not required).

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Microsoft Project.
  • Q360 preferred.

Certificates and Licenses:

  • PMP or CAPM preferred.
