OVERVIEW
The Director of North America Retail Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence across the region while also playing a critical role in shaping Alo's global retail operating model. This role serves as both an execution leader and a key contributor to the development, testing, and refinement of new initiatives, processes, and tools that will scale globally.
This leader ensures that global strategies are effectively operationalized within North America while continuously identifying opportunities to improve and evolve the operating model. They leverage a combination of real-time field feedback, business objectives, and data-driven insights to drive operational efficiency, productivity, and scalable performance across the fleet.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operating Model Development & Execution
  • Partner closely with Global Retail Operations to co-develop and evolve Alo's retail operating model, processes, and systems.
  • Act as a key thought partner in identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and store experience.
  • Lead testing and validation of new operational initiatives, tools, and process changes within North America.
  • Collaborate with Workforce Management team to ensure alignment between labor and operating model.
  • Translate global operating models into effective execution across North America, ensuring alignment with both global standards and regional needs.
  • Provide structured feedback and insights to inform continuous improvement of global frameworks.

Operational Rollout & Initiative Execution
  • Lead the comprehensive planning and execution to successfully rollout new initiatives and process changes across North America.
  • Ensure initiatives are fully operationalized, scalable, and executable before broader deployment.
  • Monitor execution quality and operational adoption, identifying opportunities and
  • North America as a test-and-learn environment to refine initiatives prior to global scaling.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of strong operational expertise, empowerment and accountability.
  • Set clear priorities and ensure alignment of team efforts against business objectives and operational goals.
  • Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and coaching to enable individual growth and performance.

Daily Operations & Process Excellence
  • Build deep expertise in store operations through hands-on engagement and continuous evaluation of store processes.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to Alo's operational standards across all North America locations.
  • Identify and drive process improvements that simplify execution, increase efficiency, and enhance store performance.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Logistics, Loss Prevention, Planning, Merchandising, Technology and field leadership to drive business objectives and operational outcomes.
  • Support solution design, testing, implementation and training of new operational processes and technology.

New Store & Market Operational Enablement
  • Own operational readiness for new store openings (NSOs), including new formats, ensuring all processes, systems, and logistics are in place prior to launch.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Logistics teams to establish effective inventory flow and fulfillment models on a store-by-store basis.

Operational Performance & KPI Ownership
  • Monitor and drive performance against key operational KPIs, reducing variability across the fleet in key KPIs.
  • Partner with field leadership to improve execution against metrics including:
  • Inventory Accuracy
  • Shrink
  • Replenishment & Recovery Rates
  • Omnichannel fulfillment
  • Establish consistent operational review cadences to ensure accountability and continuous improvement. Identify root causes of operational issues and implement scalable solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail operations, with a focus on multi-region or national execution.
  • Strong expertise in store operations, process design, and operational scalability.
  • Proven ability to both develop and execute operational strategies in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Experience piloting, testing, and scaling new initiatives or operating models preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional partners and contribute to global strategy development.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage complex timelines and initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel across North America and to HQ in California as needed.
  • Ability to support a flexible schedule aligned to retail business needs.

The base salary range for this position is $165,000-$185,000 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
