Sr. Financial Analyst
This individual reports to the Manager of Corporate Finance and with general supervision, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the maintenance, collection, organization, and presentation of financial, accounting and other quantitative data necessary for managerial decision making. Assists in the coordination and development of the annual operating budget and recurring financial and statistical reporting.
  • B.S. or B.A. degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration; Masters degree in Business or Health Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Allscripts EPSi, Meditech, or similar computer-based decision support systems.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel is desired.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, financial computing, and database software applications required.
  • Knowledge of various accounting and financial principles, practices, and applications including budgeting, financial planning, AR valuation and financial reporting required.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills required. Ability to independently develop and analyze alternative solutions and make recommendations required.
  • Ability to work effectively under considerable time pressure on high visibility, high stakes projects required.
  • Exceptionally strong financial modeling skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships at all organizational levels required.
  • Understands concepts of monthly recording net patient service revenue and valuation of accounts receivable.
  • Understands concepts of CDM.
  • Ability to handle large volume of diversified work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours when necessary required.
  • Assists in the coordination and preparation of the annual operating and capital budget
  • Assists with preparing, reviewing and analyzing the Health System's Accounts Receivable Valuation Model.
  • Assists with preparing and calculating the required contractual adjustments, charity and bad debts during the month-end financial close process.
  • Assists in preparation of month-end and quarterly financial and statistical reports and reporting packets
  • Assists in financial analyses related to capital investment projects and return on investment
  • May assist or be responsible for the maintenance of the Health System's decision support system (EPSi)
  • May assist or be responsible for the maintenance of the Health System's cost accounting system (EPSi)
  • Serves as a liaison with operational managers on financial, budget and accounting issues.
  • Leads efforts to assess, modify and/ or develop and implement more timely and consistent processes/systems to increase efficiency, accuracy and meaningfulness of information
  • Provides analytical support for more complex financial analyses.
  • Analyzes budget projections and models for completeness; accuracy; and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the Health System's operations and financial reporting structure and applies such knowledge in the performance of defined responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
