Job Description

Technical Writer

Duration: 7 months+

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Job Summary

Essential Functions

o Initiating and participating in cross-department activities required for timely delivery of all materials.

o Researching, writing, editing, and publishing a wide variety of technical materials in support of complex software applications, computer systems, servers, storage and

o Preparing and updating portions of software guides, online Help systems, technical papers, quick starts, evaluation tools, installation guides, Knowledge Base articles, and more.

o Collaborating with sales, architects, engineers, marketing, technical services professionals, software developers, and quality assurance analysts, to ensure that all materials produced are effective for the intended audience. Collaboration across time zones is expected.

o Coordinating with other writers to ensure consistency in terminology, styles, and standards across materials.

o Contributing to the design and wording of presentations, documents and user interfaces, to improve users' understanding.

o Quickly and effectively translating documents between English and Mandarin

o Performing other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience

o Exceptional English language skills.

o Exceptional Mandarin language skills.

o 7+ years industry work experience in Technical Writing with software and computer systems and network products

o Bachelor's degree with outstanding performance

o Experience with Microsoft office and authoring tools.

o Self-directed; able to independently manage projects and drive them to completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Degree in computer science, mathematics, or other science

Soft Skills

o Must have a demonstrated ability to organize, research, write, edit, and publish work to the highest level of quality in English.

o Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

o Courteous, helpful, collaborative person.

Self-motivated with a desire to excel.
