JOB SUMMARY

A maintenance technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems within a facility. This role is essential for ensuring that all equipment is operating efficiently, minimizing downtime, and preventing costly breakdowns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Comply with Eco Material Technologies’ safety policies and procedures.
  • Inspect machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure they are functioning properly and efficiently. This includes conducting routine inspections, checking for leaks, and testing equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to keep equipment in good working condition and prevent breakdowns. This can include lubricating moving parts, replacing worn-out components, and cleaning filters.
  • Accurately diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment and systems, using diagnostic tools and their own expertise.
  • Perform repairs or replace parts as necessary.
  • Work with both electrical and mechanical systems within the facility.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests to address urgent issues and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate work, share information, and address issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in technology and new maintenance techniques.
  • Must keep work area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Generates work orders and closes them in operating systems once they are completed.
  • May be required to be on-call.
  • Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Must be able to follow safety protocols and adhere to company safety standards.
  • Must have technical expertise of mechanical and electrical systems, problem-solving ability, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose issues with equipment and systems by using diagnostic tools, observing symptoms, and testing components.
  • Skilled in the use of a wide range of hand and power tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, impact wrenches, and pneumatic tools.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn and multi tasks and set priorities. Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to collaborate and work with coworkers to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to stay up to date with advancements in technology and new maintenance techniques.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other pertinent operating systems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational or technical training certificate or associate’s degree in related field a plus
  • 1-3 years' experience in a relevant field.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

  • Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
  • Withstand exposure to temperature extremes inside or out
  • Prolong standing or in stationary position
  • Complete repetitive movements
  • Bend and/or twist
  • Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
  • Must tolerate an environment with inside ambient temperatures.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision and hard hat protection, safety shoes etc.)
