Job description

SERVICE MANAGER - HEAVY EQUIPMENT
Juneau, Alaska
Relocation Available
CMI is looking for a Service Manager to run our Juneau operation.
This is not a sit-behind-a-desk role. You will be responsible for keeping a heavy equipment service department moving in one of the most demanding territories in Alaska.
If you're comfortable managing people, controlling workflow, and handling a fast-paced environment, this is a strong opportunity
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
  • Running daily scheduling and dispatch (shop & field)
  • Controlling WIP, backlog, and job flow
  • Making sure jobs move from quote → approval → completion → billing
  • Keeping technicians productive and accountable
  • Working with parts, sales, and rental to support customers
  • Managing downtime situations where response matters
  • Maintaining a safe and professional shop

You are responsible for how the department runs. Not just overseeing it.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Experience running a shop, fleet, or field service team
  • Background in heavy equipment, mining, construction, or similar
  • Someone who can make decisions and hold people accountable
  • Clear communicator who can handle customers and internal pressure
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, sometimes reactive environment

No degree required. Experience matters.
COMPENSATION
  • Base Salary DOE
  • Bonus + profit sharing
  • Full benefits (medical, dental, vision)
  • 401(k) with match
  • Paid time off
  • Relocation assistance available

LOCATION
Juneau, Alaska
No state income tax. Strong hunting, fishing, and outdoor access. Tight community.
WHY THIS ROLE
This is a key leadership position in the branch. Working directly with ownership and control over how the service department runs day to day.
If you can take ownership and execute, there's long-term opportunity here.
