Ground floor opportunity with a rapidly growing company based in Indianapolis. Prep Baseball Tournaments owns and/or operates numerous private baseball tournament-only complexes across the country. We are customer centered with emphasis on providing high-end, high tech baseball tournament facilities. Tournament season is typically from March through October. The high intensity tournament season is during June and July.


Job Overview:
Prep Baseball Tournaments is looking for a Grounds Superintendent for the brand new River Run Park in Northport, Alabama. The complex has 9 full synthetic baseball and softball fields including 2 stadium facilities, fully irrigated and extensively landscaped common areas. The Superintendent works closely with the Tournament Director to operate and maintain the complex to high standards of quality, aesthetics and cleanliness. With the help of a full-time Assistant Superintendent, the Superintendent is responsible for budget management along with the overall upkeep and maintenance of the baseball playing surfaces and related facilities, agronomic program development for common areas and landscaping, building maintenance, building custodial, parking lots, seasonal staff hiring, supervision and scheduling.


Job Environment and Expectations:
Applicants should enjoy working in a fast paced, rapidly changing baseball tournament environment in a variety of weather conditions. Non-game day activity includes training and scheduling of seasonal staff in the performance of synthetic field and related facilities maintenance and repairs, mowing, trimming and landscape maintenance of common areas, fence repairs, deep cleaning of restrooms, cleaning and washdown of dugouts, field perimeter and common areas, maintenance of buildings interiors and exteriors and other duties as assigned. Game day and tournament activity includes field and dugouts maintenance and cleaning between games, trash management, clean and stock restrooms, keeping spectators and common areas clean and safe. We take pride in providing spectators and players with a clean and safe environment in which to enjoy baseball.


Requirements:
A degree or certificate in a horticulture related field is helpful but not required. CSFM designation is preferred but not required. Prior knowledge and experience working on a baseball field is preferred. Must be willing and able to occasionally work early mornings, late nights, weekends and some holidays. Ability and desire to develop and lead a team including a full-time assistant, interns and seasonal staff.


Compensation:
Full-time, year round position. $60,000-$70,000 annual salary DOE. Up to 10% annual performance bonus, vehicle allowance, health, dental, vision, disability insurance plans with generous employee coverage, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave, matching 401K program, laptop and company clothing provided. Strong advancement potential due to rapid growth. Scholarship program. Total annual compensation package potential $77,400-$88,700.
