Job description

Overview
Thiis position is located in Hawaii.
The AIT Lead will provide direct support to the Modernization Program Manager (D684) and the Site Manager for ensuring accomplishment of established Maintenance and Modernization Program goals.
The AIT Lead will function as the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Lead per NAVSEA TS9090-310 and be responsible for the overall planning and execution of projects. The alteration planning responsibilities will include; MOA development and routing to include the services request, schedule and metrics development, Readiness Review creation and execution, and Manning plan as a minimum.
Duties required during the execution of Alteration will include; performing the role as AIT Lead, keeping the Program Manager and Site Manager informed of schedule progress, as well as any issues that are impacting schedule, and developing/leading a Project Status Report meeting to be held as directed by the Site Manager.
In this role the selected candidate will be the primary EB point of contact for the AIT Manager, OSIC, LMA and other government activities.
  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
  • Travel to other U.S. Navy facilities in the continental Unites States, Hawaii and the far East is Required.
  • The candidate is comfortable with change and able to adapt to the changing environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher.
  • The candidate must possess strong analytical, causal analysis, communication, organizational, planning, and writing skills under minimal supervision.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasking.

Qualifications
Required:
  • High School diploma / GED or equivalent
  • 8+ years project management in a manufacturing environment, Naval Shipyard and/or Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) environment
  • 2+ years working in Naval Shipyard and/or Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) environment
  • Candidate must be willing to travel and to accept extended work assignments

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1+ years AIT Lead experience Operations Supervision and/or Ships Management experience
  • Microsoft Access proficiency

Skills
  • A wide range of experience is preferred, to include as many of the oversight areas and direct support functions as possible.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidate must be proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Microsoft Access proficiency is desirable.
  • Candidate must be willing to travel and to accept extended work assignments.
