Aircraft Manufacturing Carpenter

Job Description Summary

The Carpenter - Aircraft Manufacturing is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of wood products used to support aircraft production. This role focuses exclusively on precision woodworking, including the construction of tooling, jigs, fixtures, crates, and other wood-based structures required for manufacturing, transport, and protection of aircraft components.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Fabricate and assemble wood structures and components, including:
  • Production jigs and fixtures
  • Assembly supports and stands
  • Shipping crates and protective packaging
  • Templates, forms, and shop aids
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and measurements to build parts to specification
  • Accurately measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood materials using hand and power tools
  • Select appropriate wood types, fasteners, and adhesives for strength and durability
  • Perform repairs, modifications, and rework on wood tooling as needed
  • Ensure all work meets manufacturing quality standards and dimensional accuracy
  • Maintain a neat workspace and follow FOD, safety, and tool-control requirements
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams to support production needs

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of professional carpentry experience with a strong emphasis on woodworking
  • Proven ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements
  • Experience using woodworking tools such as:
  • Table saws, band saws, drill presses, routers, sanders, and hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

What are we looking for:

Manufacturing or industrial carpentry experience

Experience building precision tooling or fixtures

Familiarity with regulated or qualitycontrolled environments

Basic understanding of shop safety and manufacturing workflows

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and machinery

Work Environment

  • Indoor manufacturing and shop environment
  • Use of woodworking machinery and hand tools
  • PPE required per company safety policies
