Job Title: Commercial Aircraft Cabinet Assembler / Cabinet Maker

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling, fitting, and installing commercial aircraft interior cabinetry and related components in a manufacturing environment. You will build and install galleys, monuments, closets, bulkheads, and storage units in accordance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and FAA quality standards, while maintaining strict safety, quality, and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft interior cabinets, monuments, closets, bulkheads, and sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, blueprints, and detailed work instructions.
• Perform drilling, fitting, fastening, bonding, and alignment of cabinet components made from wood, composites, aluminum, and honeycomb materials.
• Install hardware such as hinges, latches, drawer slides, brackets, and fasteners according to specifications and engineering requirements.
• Read and interpret aircraft interior drawings, pick sheets, trim and finish documents, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) to guide assembly work.
• Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment to achieve precise assembly and maintain tight tolerances.
• Conduct in-process inspections and final checks to verify proper fit, finish, and functional operation of completed assemblies.
• Maintain accurate production documentation, logs, and quality records in alignment with company procedures and FAA requirements.
• Follow all safety guidelines, housekeeping and 5S practices, and foreign object debris (FOD) prevention procedures on the shop floor.
• Collaborate closely with quality, engineering, and finishing teams to resolve fit, alignment, or assembly issues in a timely manner.
• Support rework, repairs, and modifications to cabinets and interior structures as required by production schedules or quality findings.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment and contribute to meeting daily and weekly output targets.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision to support overall production needs and schedule commitments.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents with accuracy.
• Hands-on experience using hand and power tools such as drills, sanders, routers, and measuring tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail and quality of workmanship.
• Ability to work with close tolerances in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills to navigate work order systems and documentation tools.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team-based production environment.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for extended periods during the shift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in aircraft interiors, cabinetmaking, woodworking, or aerospace assembly.
• Experience working with aircraft interior materials such as Nomex honeycomb, laminates, veneers, and composite materials.
• Familiarity with FAA regulations, quality systems, or maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) production environments.
• Prior experience assembling aircraft galleys, closets, lavatories, or cabin monuments.
• Experience in lean manufacturing or high-mix, low-volume production environments.
• Experience in aviation interior installation, aerospace interior assembly, or aviation cabinet assembly.
• Cabinetmaker or cabinet installer experience in a production or machine shop setting.
• Comfort working with a wide range of hand tools and production equipment in an aviation cabinet-making context.

Work Environment

The role is based in a machine shop–style manufacturing environment that can be dusty and may not be climate controlled in all areas. You will work around production machinery, hand and power tools, jigs, fixtures, and measuring equipment while assembling aircraft interiors. The atmosphere is fast-paced and collaborative, with a family-like culture that supports teamwork and mutual respect. Appropriate work attire is expected for a shop environment, with a focus on safety and practicality.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrenceville, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
